Ayurveda, the knowledge of life, is also known as the sister science to yoga. This ancient medicine is over 5,000 years old and focuses on treating the root of disease, preventing illness and promoting longevity. During an Ayurvedic holistic initial consultation you can expect to spend about 90 minutes diving deep into an exploration of your health and a finding a path to wellness. I will assess your Doshic constitution based on the 5 elements, through detailed inquiry and pulse and tongue diagnosis. Clients can expect to leave with practical wisdom to help them alleviate ailments, finding balance and harmony with their true nature. Recommendations include daily routine and lifestyle modifications, seasonal balancing therapies, nutrition and diet, herbal support, mantra, yoga therapy, breath work and a glimpse into your Vedic astrological natal chart.
Throughout my Ayurvedic practice, I have had the great fortune to have studied with renown teachers such as Dr. Ranade, Dr. Lele, Dr. Claudia Welch and Dr. Robert Svoboda. While training at the International Academy of Ayurveda in Pune, India, I worked in a wide variety of clinics across the country, a precious opportunity to gain knowledge into the roots of Ayurvedic medicine. My homestays with Indian families during my 6 months of travel, gifted me a rare and unique experience to truly see India's folk medicine applied in the home, with herbs, rituals, massage and cooking. I started my Ayurvedic practice in 2006, guiding clients with Ayurvedic wisdom and a practical approach to balance and good health. I have taught the Ayurvedic portion of Yoga Teacher Trainings for The Bhaktishop Yoga Center (Portland, OR), Yoga Medicine (Tiffany Cruikskank/Yoga Pearl), Shanti Yoga and Yoga Hive (Whitefish, MT). You can find me teaching seasonal Ayurveda-Yoga workshops in the Flathead valley or at my office in Whitefish, MT.

“I've been a student of Yoga for most of my years, and recently took a deeper dive into the practices of Ayurveda. After receiving a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, I turned to Nancy to help guide me through this new and unknown terrain. We worked on practices that would keep me grounded, address my symptoms, and bring me into better harmony with my inner and outer environment. I am deeply grateful for our time and our work together." |
“Working with Nancy has helped me to better understand the foods, practices and routines that can empower my health and my natural rhythm in life. My digestion and dry skin have improved and I'm feeling more grounded and at peace in life. Nancy helps each of us be more proactive in supporting our lives according to nature and ancient wisdom. |
